“A guilt-ridden thief sent a letter of apology and £100 back to the shop where he stole cigarettes from seven years earlier. Shopkeeper Imran Ahmed, who runs Raja Foods in Easton in Bristol, was stunned when he received the note and compensation from the remorseful thief. Mr Ahmed, 27, who remembers the night-time raid – which left him with a broken shutter and windows – said the anonymous writer’s change of heart was really good.” w/ photos
