Predator X
03/17/09 - Pretty Cool

“One was a pint-sized predator size of a rabbit, while the other was a 50ft sea monster with a bite that could crush a 4×4 car. But both ancient creatures have caused a flurry of excitement among paleontologists. The remains of ‘Predator X’ were found on the Arctic Norwegian island of Svalbard. The huge pilosaur weighed 33,000lb and was labelled as the ‘most ferocious hunter ever.’ It ruled the waves 150million years ago. In contrast, Hesperonychus was a mere 4.4inches tall and weighed 4.4lb. Canadian researchers assumed the tiny dinosaur was a juvenile but realised it was an adult after finding its hip bones were fused. It roamed western Canada 75million years ago and is North America’s smallest dinosaur to date.” w/ photos
