“A Randalia man is in jail after defecating on a sidewalk in downtown Elgin and smearing feces on the door of a building. Matthew J. Sodoma, 21, was arrested Thursday morning on misdemeanor charges of defecating on a public sidewalk or building and fifth-degree criminal mischief. Authorities said Sodoma relieved himself on the sidewalk at around 3 a.m. on July 4 and wiped the feces on a building at 240 Center St. in Elgin. The building houses the Valley Community Coalition. Officials believe the action was directed at the Coalition, but aren’t sure why.” w/ photo
