Four-Yolk Egg

January 6, 2009

CAFÉ boss Jane Holmes cracked open an egg — and discovered it had FOUR yolks. Shocked Jane discovered the amazing egg as she cooked lunch for a customer. And she was so excited that she called her supplier to report the find. Daniel Brown, of Brown’s Eggs in Scarborough, North Yorks, said: “We’ve been delivering eggs 40 years and even my dad hasn’t seen one with four yolks before. “The odds of a double-yolk are about 1,000 to one, so odds of four yolks must be phenomenal. “I would certainly be interested in hearing from anyone else who has seen this kind of thing.” The greatest number of yolks discovered in a single egg is nine.” w/ photos
