“A woman prison officer has left her job to set up home with a convicted rapist. Alison Uyanik bought a house with Royston Wells after falling in love with him in jail. The 41-year-old divorcee fell for Wells while he was at Whatton Prison in Nottinghamshire, which caters for male sex offenders. The couple bought a $173,000 semi-detached property in his home town of Chesterfield, where they moved shortly after he was released on probation last year. Friends of Miss Uyanik said they were staggered she had thrown away a secure job with good career prospects and a pension.” w/ photos
