Crafty Sea Lion Hijacks A Police Boat
“It is not the usual way he would choose to get around, but this clever sea lion has given his seal of approval to traveling by speed boat. This cute sea lion was caught on camera trying to hijack a police boat and was using his flippers to play with the throttle. The crafty creature even managed to take control of the boat, steer it and sound a siren. The animal had started the day causing trouble in Newport Harbor, California where it attacked a young boy and tugged at his trouser leg. Officers from the Orange County Sheriff’s Harbor Patrol responded to the calls and tried to scare the animal off of the pier. But when nothing would entice it back into the water officers made a makeshift leash and brought the animal aboard their boat. They had planned on dropping it off at a nearby buoy known for being a sea lion hang out, but their prisoner had other ideas.” w/ photo
