Awful Boob Art

“I have 4 rare vintage topless sculptured wall hangings for your bar that I have put Post-It notes on the naughty bits. I found these while cleaning out the attic at my father-in-laws… yikes! They are funny and inappropriate for anywhere in [your] house.” w/ photos
Opera House’s Spectacular Light Display

“Bathed in an ever-changing display of brilliant light, this is Sydney Opera House as you’ve never been seen it before. The iconic building – famed throughout the world for its graceful white ’sails’ – has been transformed into a canvas for a kaleidoscopic array of images. Called 77 Million Paintings, the installation is the work of artist and music producer Brian Eno and features 300 of his drawings. He told the BBC he wanted people to ’surrender to another kind of world,’ as they watched the transformations.” w/ photos
3-D Wall Art

“At first glance, it looks as if some natural disaster has shaken away the walls of these buildings to reveal architecture hidden for thousands of years. And at second and third glance, it looks like that too. But these spectacular images are not the unexpected result of an earthquake. The incredibly lifelike scenes are actually huge works of art, painted on the side of perfectly intact buildings. Even that woman peering into the ruin above is not real. The paintings, which have fooled many, were created by John Pugh, who specialises in trompe l’oeil – or ‘trick of the eye’ – art. He uses his skills to delude the viewer into seeing 3D scenes painted on flat surfaces. The Californian-born artist said: ‘It seems almost universal that people take delight in being visually tricked.” w/ photos
Abe Lincoln Penny Art
“A portrait of Abraham Lincoln using pennies. Contains 1025 pennies. A penny from every year and mint between 1909-2008. A complete collection minus the (1909 svdb penny and errors). A majority of the pennies are wheat pennies dating 1958 and earlier. No pennies were altered to make this portrait. They are in either circulated or uncirculated states. Thousands of pennies were sorted to find just the right coloration.”
The Tissue Tree
“Next to Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art, the Kleenex Silk Touch Tissue Tree is inspired by the work of the world famous ‘wrapping’ artist, Christo. Swathed in over 1km of silk, the tree is laden with 700 blossoms that each dispense Kleenex Silk Touch tissues to passers by. Staff nearby are encouraging people to touch the silky soft tree and feel the difference of Kleenex Silk Touch for themselves.”
1,200lbs Cheese Sculpture
“Champion cheese carver Troy Landwehr recently transformed a 1,200 pound block of cheddar cheese into the Statue of Liberty. The entire process is captured with time-lapse.”
Lego Patchwork

“Jan Vormann did his Dispatchwork again, this time, he fills up mostly holes that remained from the World War II in Berlin with Lego bricks. He did it before in Bocchignano (I forgot likecool’s link), Italy, a village close to Rome. In Berlin, he and many spontaneous people started helping him fill the bullet holes with Lego bricks at a building of Humbold University.” w/ photos
Potato Portraits

“I chose the potato to portray human faces because of the many striking parallels. Not only is their skin porous like ours, but their skin texture and color is very similar, and like us, they come in different sizes, shapes and forms. Potatoes grow, live, and then decay, mirroring the ephemeral existence and fragility of our own human nature.” w/ photos
Amazing Paper Art

“Simon Schubert, a talented German artist, uses paper creases and folds to create incredible works of art.” w/ photos
Plastic Army Men Art
“Over 1,500 little plastic army men stuck on camouflage. The toy soldiers are 3 different colors with 8 different types each. Painted and glued down with acrylic on to a wood surface. The feet bases are encased in an epoxy resin coating. Measures just over 3 foot by 4 foot.”
