“Their normal diet ranges from tadpoles to mice and occasionally small birds. But when this grass snake took on a large toad it had clearly bitten off more than it could chew. When she spied the attack, a Hampshire housewife hopped into action and caught the fascinating moments on film. She watched, and snapped, as the snake almost engulfed the common toad whole. At one point, most of the amphibian’s body vanished down the snake’s neck.” w/ photos
