I Hate L.A.

05/29/09 - Hilarious

“I moved to LA from Amsterdam after working at Boom Chicago. It’s Boom tradition that every departing actor is given a roast… this is the roast video I mailed in last week for my friend.” — Suzi Barrett (video gets better at :45 mark)

Pasta Pizza Taste Test

05/29/09 - Hilarious

“Pizza delivery places are expanding their menu with pasta, sandwiches and other random food items. Maybe that’s not such a great idea.”

The Slums Above

05/29/09 - Pretty Cool

“In South America, the slums are attached to the outskirts of mega-cities such as Caracas and Mexico City like wasps’ nests on a cliff face. In a hilly island city like Hong Kong, however, living space is limited. Here you only see the laboriously constructed huts made of corrugated iron and planks of wood in which the poorest of the poor live if you look upwards – they occupy, to put it in cynical terms, a penthouse location.” w/ photos

Aviator Mirrors

05/29/09 - Neat Products

“A collection of artists’ mirrors. Other than the qualities linked to its reflective functions, the key aspect of the mirror resides generally in the quality, design and workmanship of its frame. The Narcisse collection proposes to free the mirror from its traditional frame and thanks to the proposals of a dozen designers and graphic artists to see how, rid of its traditional codes, it is renewed to continue to give a faithful image!” w/ photos

Cheeky Bird Steals Tourist’s Passport

05/29/09 - Wacky News

“Te Anau police have identified a thief who brazenly stole a British man’s passport, but will not pursue an arrest or attempt to recover the document. A police spokeswoman said a Scottish man reported the theft of his passport from a bus heading into Milford Sound earlier this week. The passport had been in a coloured courier bag that attracted the attention of a cheeky kea when the bus stopped at the Chasm on the Milford road. While the driver was in a compartment beneath the bus, the kea grabbed the package. When the driver turned back, the startled kea flew off into the bush with the package. It has not been recovered and considering the size of Fiordland, is unlikely to be. The Scottish man, who did not want to be identified, said he had been waiting for about a month for the passport to be returned from Wellington. “Being Scottish, I’ve got a sense of humour so I did take it with humour but obviously there is one side of me still raging.” w/ photo

15 Most Alien Looking Caterpillars On Earth

05/29/09 - Top Lists

“Given that caterpillars are not themselves a species but just the in-between stage from butterfly or moth egg to pupa and then finally adult, they have made quite a name for themselves, especially as pests. Some of them are also so alien looking that one wonders where in the world they have come from.” w/ photos
